Sol-Chip develops a cost-effective technology that integrates solar light to power convertors withelectronic devices. The company offers the missing technology that will allow batteries life extension or battery elimination for low power devices (such as wireless and mobile devices). The most common solar cells are Photo Voltaic (PV) cells which are fabricated on silicon wafers. The usage of silicon wafers are "chips" or Very Large Scale Integrated (VLSI) devices. Such devices may include many millions of transistors, integrated on a single chip. Sol-Chip offers a way to use solar energy generated by the PV cells to power the VLSI design, while utilizing the same wafer area for both the VLSI and PV parts.
